I dag er det big finish med konserter, flyshow, båter og selvfølgelig fyrverkeri. "20.000 people are expected", da må jo opplegget være bra! :P
Now in English:
Okay people, this weekend it has been the Queens Diamond Jubilee in England. We are talking about the Queens face and the Union Jack everywhere you turn… It all started this Saturday and on my way in to town this car was parked. A 50’s WV Transporter have been my dream-car for a while, and this was shined so well I got a tiny «cargasm» when I saw it.
Every weekend for the last 9 months this guy have been at the market selling meat. On Fridays I have had my FMP tutorials, the meat-man has never let me down and been there as background-music outside the window.
It feels like every single building in England is covered in flags. At the stores they are sold in any size, shape and for every need; to decorate your car, the balcony or ever yourself. Personally I wish I had a flag-cap.
Logically, the food is also decorated with flags. When we were at a concert this Friday there were so many of them that is was almost difficult to see the sky. Suddenly some people started singing what sounded like a football-song and everyone joined in. They sang «God Save the Queen», and we stood there as four confused Norwegians…
What was that you said? Even more flags? Yes and why not? I might not have the flag-cap yet, but I have gathered some decorations myself. The iPhone has a flag-cover, I have a flag-lighter and I even have a flag-patch. I feel that it is important to show your support to the Brits when you are the Norwegian who thought their national anthem was a football-song.
To make the Jubilee experience complete the Magic-corn man was back! When we moved to Soton there used to be a man at the mall who sold warm sweetcorn, but he was kicked out of there in favour of the gumball-machines. We thought he went bankrupt, but this Saturday he was back in town. People love the Magic-corn and I hope he will be taken in to the West Quay warmth once again.
Today is the big finish with concerts, airplane-show, boats and of course fireworks. «20.000 people are expected», so this has to be good! :P
Kos deg med galskapen!
SvarSlettHahaha! "Cargasm". Der lo jeg godt. Ikke fordi jeg ikke forstår deg, for den bilen var virkelig råstilig! Skulle ønske jeg også kunne være i England for å oppleve dette, ser helt fantastisk ut!
